How we share your details

Last updated 9 October 2026

Draft for legal review. This page is a first draft prepared for MediaBuy.ca and has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer.

When you finish a media plan, you choose which outlets receive your brief. Here is exactly what happens next.

1. You choose the outlets

Your plan lists up to seven matched outlets. You can untick any you don’t want to hear from. Only the outlets still ticked when you submit are named in your consent.

2. You give express consent

Before you submit, you tick a box whose wording names the number of outlets listed above it. We store that exact wording, the list of outlets, the date and time, and a hashed version of your IP address as a record of your consent, as Canada’s anti-spam legislation (CASL) and PIPEDA require.

3. Outlets see your brief first

Each named outlet’s representatives see your budget, region, audience, goal, industry and timing. Your name, company, email and phone stay hidden.

4. Contact details are released per outlet

An outlet’s representative can unlock your contact details by paying a lead fee. Only outlets you named can unlock them. Outlets you did not name never receive your details, and our systems block it.

5. You stay in control

  • Outlets may only contact you about your brief, and must stop when you ask.
  • You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing privacy@mediabuy.ca with your reference number. We stop sharing your details immediately.
